Shambhala Roller Coaster Port Aventura

Shambhala roller coaster at Port aventura is named and themed after the inaccessible land in the Himalayas: Shambhala.

I would say in my opinion as ride experiences go, this coaster is up there with some of the best in the world.

Shambhala: Expedición al Himalaya is a steel hypercoaster roller coaster located at PortAventura Park near Salou, Spain. We are lucky or unlucky enough to say that we live only 20 minutes away from the Port Aventura world. And with an annual premium pass, it is quite incredible value for unlimited access to Port Aventura and Costa Caribe waterpark.

Shambhala was originally the tallest (78 metres (256 ft)) and fastest hypercoaster (134 kilometres per hour (83 mph)) in Europe until Hyperion opened at Energylandia in Poland on 14 July 2018. But fortunately, the height record was beaten once again in April 2017 by Red Force, which was also opened in PortAventura World’s new theme park Ferrari Land, this coaster reaches a height of 112 metres (367 ft). And yes I’ve also been on that a few times after taking my blood pressure medication.
